File Transfer Protocol

 

What is FTP? FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is the Internet standard for file transfer.

What can you do with FTP? You will probably be using FTP to transfer various programs from around the world to your computer.

(You can also use anonymous ftp from Netscape or Internet Explorer by typing ftp://your.host.name.here in the location box.)
